Wireless Geiger Counter with Sample Holder - NU-3345
This Wireless Geiger Counter detects alpha, beta, and gamma ionizing radiation. The included stand makes it easy to perform experiments on the inverse square law and radiation shielding.
Product Summary
The PASCO Wireless Geiger Counter counts beta, gamma and alpha radiation particles as they enter the Geiger–Müller detector tube inside the counter. An audible beep indicates the detection of ionizing radiation, which can also be easily turned off.
Students can wirelessly control the high voltage supplied to the Geiger–Müller tube inside the counter, enabling them to make measurements of counts/interval for different tube voltages. They can also plot counts/interval versus tube voltages to experimentally observe the Geiger plateau characteristics of the tube.
Designed for easy mounting, the Geiger Counter provides superior position control in inverse square law labs, radiation shielding labs, and other radiation labs. The front plastic snout fits conveniently inside the Sample Holder stand. The stand has eight slots designed to hold the included radioactive sample holder tray and shielding material. Each slot in the holder is spaced 1 cm apart to make changing the spacing between the Wireless Geiger Counter, radioactive sample, and shielding materials quick and easy.
